This week we will take some time to review rounding of larger numbers. We will also explore comparing larger numbers. Finally, we will use SCHOOLNET to review Base 10 number forms, rounding and comparing numbers up to 1,000,000.

This Week in Reading. . .
This week we will finish our novel Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. Next week we will analyze the book exploring the story elements of Theme, Setting, and Plot. We will end our study next week with a project and each student will be expected to take an AR reading test on the computer. This will be counted as their final Novel Grade.

This week in Writing. . .
We will begin to write our Personal Narratives this week. We are trying to look at one small part of our lives to write about and share! We will use Patricia Polacco as our guide. She is an excellent author who writes many Personal Narratives. Be on the lookout! Your child will bring his/her narrative home at some point to have you edit!
Non-Fiction Text Study. . .
This week the students will be assigned to read and analyze a non-fiction text on Snowy Owls. They are truly fascinating creatures.
