Wow!! Just a few months ago you were ending your year in third grade! Now, you're a FOURTH GRADER at Cleveland Elementary School! Congratulations!
This year Mrs. Hanahue is trying something new! Instead of switching teachers for each subject, you will remain in my room as I teach all of the subjects this year! I am really excited since I love teaching Reading, Math, Social Studies AND Science . As your new teacher,I am very happy to welcome you to OUR fourth grade class!
We will be reading many exciting new stories, with a focus on understanding and thinking about what we read. We will read at least 4-5 novels together as we explore literature. You also will learn how to write a variety of genres as we practice “old fashioned grammar”.
In math, as you might expect, you should already know how to add and subtract. It is extremely important that everyone memorize the multiplication tables. Much of the math you do will require knowing multiplication facts quickly. We will manipulate numbers and conquer fractions.
You also will be learning many interesting facts about North Carolina in Social Studies and studying fascinating topics in Science such as Rocks and Minerals as well as Magnets.
YOU are going to be a very important part of this class, so come to school with a smile, and ready to give your brain a good workout!
I look forward to meeting you during Meet the Teacher Night on Wednesday, August 23th, from 4:00p.m – 6:00 PM! If possible, please bring your school supplies at that time since you hopefully have a parent’s helping hand.
Our Room is located in E Wing: Mrs. Cabascango,Room E 11.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sherri Cabascango
